The drawings and the conversation stay together.

A revised PDF goes out by email. The reply lands in a different thread. A contractor marks up the previous copy. The question is still open, and nobody is sure which drawing it belongs to.

  1. 1The drawings are in one Project.

Upload a PDF to the Project. A revision goes to the same File as a new Version, so the history stays in one place.

  2. 2One Project link brings people in.

The link opens in a browser, with nothing to install. You choose Viewer or Commenter access. A Viewer reads without signing in. Commenting asks for a sign-in, and an anonymous one is offered at the first comment.

  3. 3Questions stay beside the drawing.

A comment is pinned to the page it is about. Replies stay in the thread, and each thread is marked open or resolved.

What “current” means

Opening a File shows its latest uploaded Version. A link to an older Version or a Thread keeps its original context, and comments and pins stay on the Version where they were made. A page that is already open does not refresh by itself.

Different jobs, clearly covered.

Bluebeam’s measurement and takeoff tools may still be part of your work. AutoCM gives the people discussing the drawing a shared place in the browser.

Revu 20 reaches end of life. After this date it loses access to Studio Sessions and Projects.
Perpetual licences
Revu 20 can continue to run locally, without Bluebeam cloud services.

This applies to Revu 20 only, not to current Bluebeam subscriptions. Other licence types, such as open, enterprise and academic licences, are handled differently.

Questions, answered.

Does AutoCM replace measurement and takeoff tools?

No. Bluebeam’s measurement and takeoff tools may still be part of your work. AutoCM is for sharing drawings and discussing them: it shows PDFs, keeps Versions and holds the comments pinned to them.

Who can open the Project link, and who can comment?

The Project’s owner turns the Share Link on and chooses Viewer or Commenter access. A Viewer reads without signing in. A Commenter signs in to comment, and can choose an anonymous account at the first comment. Setting the link back to Restricted ends new visits.

What happens when a drawing is revised?

Upload the revision to the same File. Opening that File shows the latest uploaded Version. A link to an older Version or a Thread keeps its original context, and earlier comments stay on the Version where they were made. They do not move onto the revision.

Can Studio Sessions or markups be imported?

No. AutoCM has no Studio import, and Bluebeam markups are not converted into AutoCM comment threads. Uploading the PDF is the supported starting point.
